The closure of Daw Mill Colliery, announced on 7th March 2013, and the loss of 500 jobs is a great blow to West Midlands economy. Here Class 58 No. 58002, named 'Daw Mill Colliery', heads southbound to Burton on a typical MGR working on 3rd April 1996, presented in respect for the colliery and the men and staff who worked there, an a reminder of the diminishing UK derived coal traffic.
