Hanau Museum Railway ex-DDR Class 50 No. 50 3552-3 storms up the hill near Schneeberg (Snow Mountain) in light snow fall pulling a Santa special on its way to Wallduern. The original Class 50s were a standard Deutsche Reichsbahn(DRG) freight loco first built in 1939. Later models were built directly as Uebergangskriegslok (austerity locos) for WWII. East Germany re-built many of the class. This is an ex-DDR version recognisable by the standard DDR Mischvorwaermer(pre-heater) over the smokebox.
