In addition a failed tamper at Penrith was adding to the already busy scene. Here 11 car Class 390 Pendolino No. 390114 waits its slot in the single line working process, with a service from Glasgow Central to London Euston. In the opposite platform a combined Trans Pennine express set of 2 x Class 185s lead by No. 185120 also awaits it turn.
