Class-leader: the Peterborough to Ely line through Cambridgeshire sees a generous volume of regular freight workings, but most are hauled by a relentless succession of Class 66 locomotives, so a Freightliner Class 70 adds some very welcome variety. Here, Class 70 No. 70001 'PowerHaul' heads the 4L89 Coatbridge to Felixstowe container working through Manea on Saturday 29th September 2012. This is one of several Saturday freight workings that are being diverted via the Peterborough to Ely line until December 2012, due to weekend engineering works on the GEML.
