Unfortunately Princess Coronation Class No. 46233 Duchess of Sutherland failed with a minor problem prior to working 1Z93 North Wales Coast Express 9:35 Crewe-Holyhead on 5th August 2012 and Class 47 No. 47580 was substituted to work the Crewe-Manchester-Chester leg. Efforts were being made for the rostered steam loco to take over at Chester. The Class 47 makes a smoky exit from Crewe's Platform 5, 15 minutes late.
