Class 118 diesel No. 118014 of the DDR, East German Railway, approaching Helmstedt West Germany on a train from Berlin on 4th November 1975. Just beyond the train in the mist was the East German border, this was as near as you dare get without encountering problems with the guards, who actually patrolled the tracks.
