LMS Stanier Class 5MT 4-6-0 Nos. 44871 and 45407 are seen at Birkett Common with the return leg of 'The Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express' on Saturday 28th January 2012. Only minutes before, the fog that can be seen in the valley had competely obscured the tracks making photography impossible, but to everyone's relief it cleared just in time for the arrival of the train.
