A resplendent LNER Class A4 4-6-2 Pacific No. 4468 ‘Mallard’ stands on display within the Great Hall at the NRM York on 3rd December 2011. Carrying the Coronation headboard, the locomotive is of course famed for holding the world speed record for a steam locomotive, obtaining 126 mph on 3rd July 1938.
