During the past two weeks NR Contractors have been drilling for soil samples on the alignment of the proposed Norton Bridge Diversion scheme. The scene with No. 390023 'Virgin Glory' on 10.40 Euston-Manchester will be vastly different in 3 years time as the new double track North Staffs connection will flyover the WCML at the spot marked by the rear of the Pendolino on 28th November 2011.
