Caught in the sun during a brief break in the weather, an immaculate GWR 6000 Class 4-6-0 No. 6023 ‘King Edward II’ stands at Thuxton, awaiting a clear road. During its last working day at the Mid Norfolk Railway, the locomotive is hauling the 10:00 Derteham to Wymondam service, before returning to Didcot later in the month. Seen here, on the second day of the railway’s first ever Steam Gala, on 17th July 2011.
