The 15th September 2010 proved to be a disasterous day for the running of the northbound 'Fellsman' hauled by 5690 'Leander' due to abysmal rail conditions, which resulting in extreme late running by the time the Hellifield water stop was reached. Rear end assistance was provided from there over the S&C by Class 37/5 No. 37685, here seen passing Settle Junction on its way to Hellifield having travelled direct from Carnforth via the Little North Western Line.
