ÖBB DMU No. 5047020 as R6314 departs from Waidhofen a.d. Thaya station in the North of Lower Austria (Niederösterreich). This line is due to be closed for passenger trains mid December 2010. It seems to be easier for the state government to cut subsidies for a railway line than to making it more attractive for potential new customers. With Zwettl and Waidhofen two district capitals are going to loose their connection at least to the passenger rail network.
