The downturn in SNCF freight traffic and replacement of loco hauled passenger trains with new units has resulted in numerous surplus SNCF locomotives. On 16th September 2010 over 250 were stored in the former Sotteville Triage Yard south of Rouen, with a further 50 in the sidings adjacent to Quatre Mare Works.
