A new flow of coal slurry from Maltby Colliery, South Yorkshire to Immingham for blending, began on Monday 24th May when GBRF 66724 arrived at Maltby Colliery with a rake of 21 JNA box wagons ex store at Long Marston. Running as 6E53 Long Marston to Maltby, it arrived at 20.38. The train was loaded and should have departed as 6C48 01.30 Maltby to Immingham due for arrival at 03.35, however it departed 89 minutes early. The train weighing 2142 Tonnes, was routed from Maltby via Worksop and Brigg to Immingham.
On Monday 31st May the first daylight run was hauled by No. 66728 as 6R47 04.30 Immingham to Maltby, due to arrive 06.10 but arriving 90 minutes late at 07.40. This was to form 6Z45 10.00 Maltby to Immingham via Worksop and Lincoln and was booked to run Mon-Fri.
The 21 wagons in use are JNA 102 tonne Bogie Ballast Wagons built on TEA under frames in 1998, formerly CAIB and hired by VTG to GBRF in 2005. They are numbered in rake order as:-
VTG 3497,3500,3449,3504,3516,3460,3519,3495,3441,3518,3474,3458,3485,3475,3515,3491,3472,3471,3503,3432,3407.
