Boiler and firebox of Saddle Tank No. 1363. The board reads “At one time saddle tanks were the most common form of small engine to be built at Swindon. However, changes in boiler design meant that this form of tank was no longer practicable, and so construction was switched pannier tanks instead. No. 1363 is the very last survivor. Restoration is now underway.â€
