One of the 2-10-2T locomotives forming the mainstay of the Harzer Schmalspur-Bahnen (HSB) fleet, 99 7237-3 thrashes up the gradient towards the summit at Brocken. The line climbs 440 metres in 14 kilometres - an average gradient of almost 1 in 30.
