DX5293 near Waipara, North Canterbury, with train 734 Christchurch - Picton on 13 January 2008. Behind 5293 are two Class DQs, another Class DX and two Class DCs. On Sundays this train can have anything from two to six locos on the front. Only the train loco is under power the other locos are being positioned to Picton to balance freight workings south to Christchurch during the week.13th january 2008
