The opportunity to drive recreated 2ft gauge Lynton and Barnstaple Railway Baldwin 2-4-2T Lyn as it makes its public debut pulling the first trip out of Woody Bay station on 13th May 2017 is the sole prize in a raffle being held by The 762 Club.

Tickets cost £5.00 and just 2,000 have been printed for this once in a lifetime opportunity. To purchase ‘Grand Steaming Prize Draw’ tickets, write to Jon Pain, 26 Oaklands, Bideford, North Devon EX39 3HW. Cheques should be made payable to The 762 Club. Sale of raffle tickets will contribute towards the primary funding task of raising the finance needed to complete assembly at Alan Keef Ltd.

The rolling chassis with driving wheelsets and pony trucks fitted was displayed at Alan Keef Ltd’s 17th September Open Day. Shortly after this appearance an attempt was made to trial fit the boiler for the first time and it was discovered it fouled the rear pony truck equalising beam and would not drop fully into place.

The design team is working on resolving this unexpected issue.
