Built by Metro-Cammell in 1960 Pullman Parlour Second No. 340 was coming to the end of its days with BR as it is pictured in Ely Yard on 24th June 1978. Still painted in faded umber & brown Pullman Livery the vehicle awaited a tow to the local Snailwell scrap yard. Incredibly this did not happen and No. 340 is still in use nearly 42 years after this image was taken, as a part of the Orient Restaurant at the Avon Causeway Inn, Hurn, Dorset. A very lucky escapee from the firing tunnel that appeared to await it.
