The ECML was again closed between Newcastle & Berwick-upon-Tweed on 25th September 2021, necessitating LNER Services to be diverted along the Tyne Valley between Newcastle Central and Carlisle. Here, Nine-Coach LNER 'AZUMA' Bi-Mode Class 800/1 No. 800110 passes under the 1870's Passenger Footbridge as it passes sedately through Hexham Station, (which opened in 1835 and is one of the oldest railway stations in the world, built to link the lead mines of the North Pennines to the Tyne Docks at Blaydon), working the 1E13, 09:17 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross Service.
