During the summer of 2020, clearance of the vegetation along the small embankment west of Afflington Bridge on the Swanage Railway, along with clearing a drainage culvert, was carried out thus opening out this view. In this scene Swanage Railway BR Standard 4MT 2-6-4T No. 80104 crosses Corfe Common on the approach to Afflington Bridge under gathering clouds on 6th April 2021, at the business end of the 12:45 staff training service from Norden to Swanage. The small pile of logs on the embankment left behind by the clearance gangs adds an element of pleasantness to the scene.
