Built in 1979, Double-Fairlie design 'Earl of Merioneth / Iarll Meirionnydd' is seen being coaled at Portmadog Ffestiniog railway station on 2nd July 2015. This locomotive is the first of the so-called 'new build' designs in the UK (locos built since the end of steam) to be withdrawn.
