The environmental damage caused by diesel exhaust was less of interest to most people in the 1990s than it is today. Here, Class 47/4 No. 47851 has just detached from its stock at Redhill on 19th April 1992 and is seen running round to gain the southern end of its platform to take forward the 14:30 Brighton - Glasgow Central via Guildford service.
