There is an unusual scheduling of the Theale oil train today on New Year's Eve - such trains normally travelling loaded from the refinery at Milford Haven overnight. It has been retimed several hours later, providing a daylight sector at the end of its run. The mist hanging over the Common nearly obscures the view of Hungerford, and the bright red of DB Class 66/0 No. 60044 'Dowlow' dominates the scene. The driver waves a greeting after an exuberant burst on the horn on 31st December 2019. The train is not scheduled to return until after the New Year holiday.
