An unusual visitor to Hungerford on 15th August 2019 with the stone empties from Oxford Banbury Rd returning to Whatley Quarry is DBC Class 60 No. 60024 'Clitheroe Castle', looking immaculate in an opportune burst of sunshine and running fast with negligible signs of diesel exhaust. The loco appears to be in 'ex works' condition, but a few visits to stone terminals will soon take the shine off! The name of the loco suggest some sort of association with Castle Cement at Clitheroe perhaps.
