Class 104 DMCL No. 50424 was delivered to BR during April 1957 entering service at Manchester Longsight Depot. Withdrawn from Buxton Depot, as No. 53424 in July 1984 she was subsequently re-instated early in 1985. Transferred to Scotland it was painted in this 'Mexican Bean' livery along with Class 104 DMBS No. 53434, and used for three summer seasons on the 42 mile Crianlarich to Oban branch of the West Highland Railway. In this image, taken at Eastfield TMD, Glasgow on 10th June 1985 and attached to No. 53434, it has just re-entered service. Withdrawn for the final time during December 1987, the set was scrapped locally at MC Metal Processing, Glasgow in June 1991.
