Prior to the (re-)introduction of locomotive-hauled Transport-for-Wales services between Cardiff and Rhymney, training runs on the line with locomotive and stock have been undertaken. The first day of these workings took place on 9th May 2019, and Class 37/4 No. 37418 is seen departing Cardiff Queen Street on its first northbound trip.
