New train - new bridge! The Berks & Hants line re-opens after a 4-day blockade for electrification work during which time NR have also replaced the plate girder underbridge on Hungerford Common. The new structure carries only the two running lines - the trackbed of the recently removed goods line with its original underbridge have been left in situ to maintain the stability of the embankment. IET Class 802 No. 802006 leading classmate 802010 obey the temporary 50mph speed restriction with a late-running Penzance to Paddington train on 12th October 2018, a day of delays due to stormy weather in the West Country.
