On the 6th September 2018, one of the two preserved 0298 Class Beattie Well Tank, 2-4-0 locomotives No. 30587, is seen parked outside the National Railway Museum at York. Although part of the national collection, this locomotive is normally on loan to the Bodmin and Wenford Railway in Cornwall but had been brought back to York to participate in brake van rides at the museum.
