Lifford Curve in south Birmingham connects the Camp Hill line with the Cross City line, which it joins at Lifford West Junction between Kings Norton and Bournville. It is occasionally used for ECS movements. It's doubtful many passengers on the Northern Belle from Derby to Crewe were aware that they were travelling rare track, especially in the Birmingham suburbs. On 18th February 2018 DRS Class 57 No. 57308 'Jamie Ferguson' leads the train off Lifford Curve with No. 57312 out of sight on the rear.
