The grounded body of AC Cars Railbus No. 79979 is seen at Boat of Garten Station on the Strathspey Railway, Scotland on 13th August 1980. Delivered in February 1958 to BR's Western Region No. 79979 spent all it's working life in Scotland before being withdrawn during November 1966. In 1968 No. 79979 was moved to Craigentinny Yard, Edinburgh where the chassis was scrapped and the body used as a battery store. Sold to the Strathspey Railway in 1977 the body was scrapped by MC Metals, Glasgow by October 1992.
