LMS class 5 No. 45025 is pictured climbing towards Oxenhope on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway on 26th October 1969. The loco, built at Vulcan Foundry in 1934, is the oldest preserved member of the class and worked on BR until the end of the steam era in August 1968, based at Carnforth. In 1939 she was involved in a serious accident at Bletchley while piloting a Euston to Stranraer express when four people were killed. She was privately purchased for eventual use on the Strathspey Railway in Scotland and was loaned to the KWVR from 1969 to 1974.
