The 30 strong fleet of BRUFF Road Rail Recovery Vehicles were introduced in 1985/1986 to enable engineers to attend incidents on the network more rapidly than by using conventional road lorries. On display in Kilmarnock Station Yard on 11th September 1988 is C997XPX in Rail mode.
