By a happy coincidence I arrive in position for an autumnal shot just as No. 43002 flashes past Hungerford with the mid-afternoon Paddington - Penzance express on 12th October 2017. The dominantly yellow effect of the retro livery on the power car chimes well with the yellowing leaves, but perhaps less so with the standard FGW purple of its rolling stock! The eponymous 'Sir Kenneth Grange' was also responsible for the Kenwood food mixer, the Instamatic camera, and other style icons of their era.
