Bridge 99 on the Kennet & Avon canal, open again after restoration, provides an opportunity to recreate my image displayed on the interpretation board at the site. However instead of featuring a steam-hauled British Pullman I had to be content with Class 59/2 No. 59205 with the afternoon Acton to Merehead Quarry empties which obligingly appeared just as another Bruce Trust boat 'Rebecca' emerged from under the bridge on 19th September 2017. In its favour, the striking red (the photographer's friend) of the diesel loco lifts what would otherwise be a predominantly green and blue outlook.
