The section of line between Five Ways and Birmingham New Street sees the line burrowing beneath the city streets through a series of four tunnels in the following order:- Bath Row, Granville Street, Canal and Holiday Street. Here at Five Ways, Class 323 25kV EMU No. 323 221 exits Bath Row tunnel with a Lichfield Trent Valley-Longbridge service. The derelict single bore tunnel on the upper right of the photograph once led to the long closed Birmingham Central Goods station. This photograph taken on 22nd July 2017.
