Virgin-liveried Class 47 No. 47817 heads through Starcross on 19th August 1998 with the 15:55 Plymouth - Manchester cross country service. Previously No. 47662 and subsequently named The Institution of Mechanical Engineers No. 47817 was converted to Virgin Thunderbird class 57/3 No. 57311 in 2003 and named Parker before subsequently transferring to DRS ownership and being renamed Thunderbird.
