Built for the Portmadoc, Beddgelert & South Snowdon Railway by Hunslet in 1906 (Works No. 901), WHHR 2-6-2T "Russell" is seen at Porthmadog on 3rd June 2017. Following the failure of the PB&SSR, the locomotive worked on the North Wales Narrow Gauge Railways Company lines until absorbed by the WHR in 1922. "Russell" was moved around quite frequently during it's working life, visiting an open cast ironstone quarry near Hook Norton, Andover, The Norden Clay Mines, Towyn, Kinnerley, Carnforth and Llanberis before, finally arriving at Gelerts Farm in 1970.
