A view of Brading station on 13th March 2017, with former London Underground Class 483 No. 483007 at the platform with the 10:18 from Shanklin to Ryde Pier Head. The passing loop was removed in 1988 at the same time as the signal box was closed and the line to Sandown reduced to single track. In 1989, the station and signal box were made Grade II listed buildings, since when considerable restoration has taken place. A reinstatement of the passing loop has been mooted to improve the timetable interval of the trains.
