On 5th January 2017, a Virgin Trains East Coast HST, formed of Class 43s Nos. 43295 and 43307 departs Newcastle Central station with a service from London King's Cross to Aberdeen, while to the left classmate No. 43313 brings up the rear of a VTEC service from Edinburgh Waverley to London King's Cross.
