This 2 foot narrow gauge, Class 91 locomotive, No. 91.001, was built by GE in the USA in 1973. It was used on the narrow gauge line from Port Elizabeth to Avontuur, until Transnet closed the line a few years ago. In 2016, the locomotive was repainted in Spoornet blue livery and placed on display at the excellent Outeniqua Transport Museum in George, in the Western Cape, where it is seen on 22nd November 2016. The locomotive to the rear is an ex SAR narrow gauge Class NG15 No. NG 122, which was also used on the line to Avontuur.
