State Railways of Thailand Hitachi-built DMU No. 1034 (driving car) dating from 1967 awaits departure from Laoss only railway station at Thanaleng with the 17.30hrs departure to Nong Khai (Thailand) on 6th December 2016. This new Chinese-built line dating from 2009 links the Thai railway system with Laos and crosses the Mekong River over a dual-purpose road/rail bridge known as the Friendship Bridge. There are two return workings per day.
