A pair of Glasgow Eastfield MPD allocated Class 20 locomotives No. 20105 and No. 20093, are shunting a coal train in Falkland Road Yard, Ayr on 17th March 1976. Both locomotives were still vacuum only braked at this time and also both retained the large cab side recess for fitting single line token apparatus. As most of the Scottish Class 20 allocation also had deeper cab side windows this left a very small space for the loco number to be attached as can be seen in this image. Neither loco survives today, with No. 20093 being withdrawn in May 1991 and scrapped by MC Metals, Glasgow during May 1992, while No. 20105 was withdrawn in June 1991 but not scrapped until August 2010, in this case by TJ Thomson Ltd at their Stockton-on-Tees Yard.
