LMS Black 5 No. 45305, running in the guise of long scrapped No. 44984 passes Woodthorpe on a miserable September 2nd 2006. The loco was taking part in the GCR Gala to celebrate the 40th anniversary of closure of The Great Central. The real No. 44984 having worked the 17:15 service from Nottingham Victoria to Marylebone on the final day, September 3rd 1966. The train departed Loughborough at 17:39 the exact time of the final train 40 years earlier, and carried a similar smokebox wreath.
