With a waft of blue smoke from the exhaust large logo blue-liveried Class 50 No. 50035 'Ark Royal' drifts into Paddington Station on 23rd April 1982 ready for it's next outward working. Withdrawl took place during August 1990 and No. 50035 became the first Class 50 to be preserved. Over a quarter of a century later she is still owned by the Fifty Fund being based on the Severn Valley Railway Shropshire.
