An Class 221 Virgin Voyager set forms a Glasgow to Carlisle shuttle service along the Glasgow and South Western Route on 17th January, near Thornhill, south of Sanquhar. These diesel shuttles are operating to provide a through rail service for passengers to and from Scotland on the WCML while the main line route is closed near Lockerbie
