Class 20 No. 20028 'Bedale' is stabled on Thornaby MPD on 13th December 1986 following a recent repaint into a non standard livery of rail blue with red solebars, and white roof. Four Thornaby allocated Class 20's carried this livery in the mid 1980's, all also having unofficial names painted mid way along the solebar with the depots Kingfisher emblem on the bodyside. The others locos involved were No. 20070 'Leyburn No. 20172 'Redmire, and No. 20173 'Wensleydale'. Delivered in December 1959 as Type 1 No. D8028 and first allocated to Leith Central Depot, Edinburgh, she would remain in service until withdrawn from Toton TMD during November 1992. Disposal would entail a trip back to Scotland where M C Metals completed the task in February 1995 at their yard next to Glasgow Works.
