From Putbus to Lauterbach and back, a diesel loco is attached to all narrow-gauge trains, as there are No. run-round facilities. The mixed-gauge track is used by mainline DMUs as well. 251 901 was built in 1961 at Gmeinder, West Germany, and worked on Deutsche Bundesbahn's narrow-gauge lines until the 1980's.
