The Waverley route was officially re-opened as the Borders Railway on 9th October 2015 when HM The Queen joined the first steam-hauled service from Edinburgh to the current terminus at Tweedbank. The empty stock of the Royal Special is seen approaching the end of the 2-track section at Galabank Junction en route to Edinburgh with A4 Class Pacific 60009 Union of South Africa on the rear.
