Prototype Mark 1 Griddle Car No. 1100 is pictured outside BREL Glasgow Works on 2nd April 1978. Built at BR Eastleigh Works in 1960 she was withdrawn during October 1977 and set aside for preservation as part of the NRM collection. Shown here after a final overhaul No. 1100 can nowadays be found stored behind Loughborough Shed at the Great Central Railway in the same very faded colours.
